From the Airport
Car Hire: Take advantage of the special easyJet inflight rates. Visit the Europcar desk on arrival or call +49 (0)89 973 5020. Open from 7am-midnight seven days a week.
Airport Transfer: Pre-book your door-to-door transfer with easyJets transfer partner, Holiday Taxisfrom home to the airport, then city or resort (easyjet.holidaytaxis.com).
Train: The journey to Munich's central station (Hauptbahnhof) takes 40 minutes. The S1 and S8 run from 3.30am-midnight. Tickets: 8.80.
Taxi: The fare to the centre is about 55.
Bus: Buses leave for the centre every 20 minutes, from 6am-10pm. Tickets: 10 single; 16 return.

Key Area
A district in the west of the city, Neuhausen is a good place to experience the real Munich, away from the tourists. Browse the quaint shops, buzzing bars and top-class restaurants.
This month
Even if you're not into cycling, the famous Six-Day Race in the Olympiahalle is worth catching. As well as bags of adrenalin, the event offers plenty of off-track entertainment, including a world food fair (6-11 November. 21 Spiridon-Louis-Ring).

Get an early taste of winter fun with a trip to Germanys premier ski resort at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Enjoy some skiing or attempt an exhilarating hike over the glacier. Trains leave Munich every hour.
