Airport Information


  • Holiday Taxis (easyJet.holidaytaxis.com) take you from home to the airport, then city or destination.

  • The white express bus SXF1 leaves every 20 minutes outside terminal A. It takes 20 minutes to Berlin Südkreuz. Ticket: €6, which includes a ticket for connecting to the public transport from Südkreuz, where you can access S-Bahn trains.

  • Visit the Europcar desk on arrival for special easyJet inflight rates.

  • The fare to the centre is about €35.

  • The efficient S-Bahn train leaves roughly every 10 minutes from Berlin-Schönefeld airport. Tickets: €2.80.

  • Hats seem to making a big comeback. One of Berlin's finest hat shops is the Panama Hutgalerie, on a trendy K'berg street. Here you'll find classic Panama hats, felt fedoras, cowboy hats and Kangol caps (60 Wiener Strasse, Kreuzberg. www.panamahutgalerie.de).
  • A stone's throw from the Brandenburg Gate, the Kennedys Museum is hosting a temporary exhibition that examines parallels between President Obama and JFK. Central to the show are many works by official White House photographer Pete Souza (Pariser Platz, Mitte. www.thekennedys.de).
  • Schöneberg has been the centre of Berlin's gay scene for nearly a century. The area around Winterfeldplatz is buzzing with busy cafés and shops. On Wednesday and Saturday the square hosts a large market.
  • Tour the Sachsenhausen Nazi concentration camp, just north of Berlin, to get a better understanding of the darkest period of German history. Take a walking tour with Berlin Walks, which includes the trip to the site (www.berlinwalks.com).

  • The world's largest fashion fair, Bread & Butter (1-3 July), has returned to Berlin after four years in Barcelona. It's new location is the recently closed Tempelhof Airport.
