Airport Information


  • Holiday Taxis (easyJet.holidaytaxis.com) take you from home to the airport, then city or destination.

  • Every 20 minutes, buses 12 and 21 go to Schuman metro station in the centre. Tickets: €3 (€4 on the bus).

  • Visit the Europcar desk on arrival for special easyJet inflight rates.

  • The journey to the centre of town costs about €35 and takes 25 minutes.

  • Trains depart every 15 minutes for the city centre. Tickets: €3 single; €6 return.

  • Zaabär is a temple to chocolate (shop and factory) where you're guaranteed to find your own slice of chocolate heaven. Regular workshops and events should tickle your taste buds, too (125 Chaussée de Charleroi. www.zaabar.com. Tel. 02 533 9580).
  • An exhibition of Michel Comte's work at the Young Gallery features splendid pictures of some of the most beautiful women in the world, including Sonia Braga, Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve and Helena Christensen (until 1 August. 75B Avenue Louise. Tel. 02 374 0704).
  • Head to the Bois de la Cambre (a huge park in town) for a picnic and a lazy afternoon. Take the electrical boat to the small Robinson Island and have a drink on the terrace of the Chalet as the sun sets.
  • Discover the stunning gardens of Adegem, including a French garden with thousands of roses, an English landscaped garden with ponds and waterfalls, and splendid rocks in the Japanese garden, symbolising human life from birth until death - and beyond. It's about 90 kilometres from Brussels.

  • Belgium celebrates its National Day on 21 July. On this day in 1831, Leopold I was elected first king by the Belgian Congress and Brussels was chosen as the capital of the new kingdom.
