Airport Information


  • Holiday Taxis (easyJet.holidaytaxis.com) take you from home to the airport, then city or destination.

  • Route 3 goes from Puerto del Rosario to El Castillo (Caleta de Fuste), with buses departing at about 15 minutes past the hour. Tickets: €1.40. Route 6 buses to Corralejo run every hour, on the hour. Tickets: €3.70.

  • Visit the Europcar desk on arrival for special easyJet inflight rates.

  • The fare to Corralejo is about €60 (35 minutes), Caleta de Fuste €15 (10 minutes) and Costa Calma €90 (45 minutes).

  • Pachamamas is the place to get natural foods, find local alternative therapists and buy handmade jewellery (21 Calle Chinchorro, Corralejo).
  • Unmissable for music fans, world music festival Fuerteventura en Música takes place this month on Las Lagos beach, in El Cotillo. Expect a mix of local and international bands (3-4 July).
  • Los Lagos, at El Cotillo, is a series of lagoons perfect for children who can hunt for sea creatures in the rock pools. Visit the faro (lighthouse), which houses a fishing museum.
  • Catch a glass-bottomed boat from the harbour in Corralejo to Lobos Island, a natural park with well-signposted walkways. Climb to the top of the volcano for stunning views. After your walk, head to the stunning beach to cool off and snorkel around the rocks.

Tips

  • Much of the sand on Fuerteventura's beaches come from the Sahara, carried on the winds called Calima. When these are heavy, the sky turns white and visibility can be reduced to 100 metres.
