Airport Information


  • Pre-book your door-to-door transfer with easyJet's transfer partner, Holiday Taxis-from home to the airport, then city or resort (easyjet.holidaytaxis.com).

  • Take advantage of the special easyJet inflight rates. Visit the Europcar desk on arrival or call +41 (0)22 717 8110. Open from 7am-11.30pm seven days a week.

  • The journey takes 15 minutes and costs CHF30-CHF50.

  • Trains go to Cornavin station and the journey takes 10 minutes. Tickets: CHF3 one-hour; CHF7 one-day.

  • Theodora is a charming boutique that celebrates the ancient art of perfumery and sells exclusive ranges from old family perfume houses using traditional methods (37 Grand Rue. parfumerietheodora.ch).
  • The Music in the Summer Festival is a series of outdoor music concerts through July and August and held in picturesque city-centre locations. The Ella Fitzgerald Scene series, in pretty Parc La Grange, focuses on rap, jazz, pop, funk, reggae and world music on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
  • The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in the Plainpalais area is a 1950s factory that is now inspired by the spirit of Marcel Duchamps (www.mamco.ch, French only). The neighbourhood art scene also includes innovative galleries such as Analix Forever (www.analix-forever.com) and Charlotte Moser (www.galeriemoser.ch).
  • Lavey-les-Bains is a collection of thermal baths, hidden in among mountain scenery and featuring a heated outdoor pool, whirlpool baths, hammam steam bath and bubbling water beds. Open until 10pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. To get there, catch a train to St Maurice station, from where frequent buses leave for the baths (Tel. 024 486 1555).
