Airport Information


  • Pre-book your door-to-door transfer with easyJet's transfer partner, Holiday Taxis-from home to the airport, then city or resort (easyjet.holidaytaxis.com). Ski transfers available now.

  • A shuttle bus goes to the central bus station, next to the train station. Tickets: €3.80.

  • Take advantage of the special easyJet inflight rates. Visit the Europcar desk on arrival or call +33 (0)1 5566 8344 from 11am-3pm Monday-Friday and Sunday. If you have pre-booked and arrive out of normal office hours, you'll be met by a Europcar representative.

  • The fare to the city is about €70.

On the Ground

  • Borel Sports specialises in mountain-sports kit-anything from skiing and boarding to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing (42 Avenue Alsace Lorraine. Tel. 04 7646 4746).
  • Foire de Printemps is the annual spring fair that takes place at Alpexpo this month. You'll find plenty of exhibitors promoting a wide range of lifestyle products (19-23 March).
  • Catching a bus to one of the many ski stations nearby is easy and affordable. Grenoble bus station offers various bus ticket-and-ski pass combinations at discounted prices (www.transisere.fr, French only).
  • Le Sappey Col de Porte is 20 minutes from Grenoble and known as the cradle of Alpine skiing in France. Though it may seem more limited than other resorts in the area, it boasts old-world charm with old wooden chair lifts and traditional restaurants.

  • Les Grottes de Choranche
    Situated in the Vercors Mountains, Les Grottes de Choranche is a spectacular sight-an unusual cave with a network of walking paths beside spectacular waterfalls. There's a restaurant on an attractive terrace and a gift shop, too.
  • Grenoble is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of Europe, due to its strong presence in research, science and technology industries.
