Airport Information


  • Holiday Taxis (easyJet.holidaytaxis.com) take you from home to the airport, then city or destination.

  • Route 78 goes directly to the city centre. Tickets: €0.50 (€0.60 on board).

  • Visit the Europcar desk on arrival for special easyJet inflight rates.

  • Fares to the city centre are metered. Expect to pay about €19.

  • Take a taxi to the Kosmos Centre, where you can seek refuge from the heat. Peruse the big-name shops, and stop off in one of the many restaurants or cafés for a pick-me-up.
  • The city's Luna park is a fantastic day out for young and old. Go on one of the many thrilling rides and soak up the buzzing atmosphere. Tickets: €20.
  • From Mitropoleos Street, take bus 5 and alight at Kalamaria. With plenty of shops to wander around if you fancy a browse, and cafés to chill out in if you need a little solace, it has something for everyone.
  • Take the bus from Ktel Halkidikis and head to Polichrono. This small village on the Kassandra Peninsula is a great place to relax, with stunning views. Cool off with a dip in the sea, and grab lunch in the friendly Cockney Cafe.

Tips

  • Café frappé - the most popular coffee in Greece, especially with the young - was first made in Thessaloniki. It's cold, creamy and drunk with a straw.
