Airport Information


  • Holiday Taxis (easyJet.holidaytaxis.com) take you from home to the airport, then city or destination.

  • Visit the Europcar desk on arrival for special easyJet inflight rates.

  • The fare to the centre is about CHF60 and the journey takes 20 minutes.

  • Trains make the 10-minute journey to the city centre every 15 minutes. Ticket: CHF6.20

  • Truffe is a pretty shop that showcases Swiss and European chocolatiers. Sample blends made with regional produce, such as flowers or absinthe from Graubünden, as well as chocolate cocktails or ice cream in the café lounge. Books, textiles and local design objects are on sale, too (12 Schlusselgasse. Tel. 043 539 1885).
  • Live At Sunset is a popular annual outdoor music festival featuring international names like Cyndi Lauper and national music stars such as Stephan Eicher (8-19 July. www.liveatsunset.ch).
  • For a spectacular view over the city centre and sun bathing alongside, hip city dwellers head to the lakeside swimming area at Mythenquai. Saunas and massages are available, while at sunset it transforms into a cool bar and nightclub, with DJs and live local bands (www.tonttu.ch, German only).
  • Rapperswil is a picturesque town on the upper edge of Lake Zurich, home to a quaint old town and the permanent zoo of the legendary Swiss circus, Knie. Take S5 or S7 from the main train station, it's a 30-minute journey.
