Casa d’Italia
(Palais des Institutions Italiennes, Marshan. Tel. 03 993 6348) Located in the servants\' quarters of the extravagant and mostly abandoned Palais Moulay Hafid, this is the place to enjoy proscuitto i melone among the exclusive expatriate set. Tip the guard for a tour of the palace.
Casa Espana
(Rembrandt Hotel, Boulevard Mohamed V. Tel. 03 993 4605) Tapas is the way to go at this Spanish club. The mango and baked goat\'s cheese salad is to die for, as is the Serrano ham that you won\'t find anywhere else. Casa Espana also serves one of the best paellas in Tangier.
El Palacio de las Paellas
(141 Avenue Mohamed V . Tel. 039 942 603) Paellas are the speciality and they're a great meal to share at 'The Palace', where varieties of the rice dish include seafood, vegetarian, lobster, meat and mouthwatering cheeses. Open for lunch and dinner.
La Pagode

Tel. 039 944 902) Going Chinese may not seem logical in Morocco, but this red-themed old Tangier favourite for business lunches and dinners accomplishes a unique Moroccan-Chinese fusion. Especially successful are the spring rolls and chicken with almond appetiser. The glazed duck is simply mouth-watering.
Otori Sushi
(41 Rue de la Resistance. Tel. 039 324 422) The first and only sushi restaurant in Tangier is sleek and attracts a young and modern crowd. The miso soup is excellent, as is the sushi assortment for two.
Relais de Paris
(Complex Dawliz, 42 Rue de Hollande. Tel. 039 331 819) Typical French cooking with fresh organic produce, served with a good choice of good French and Moroccan wines. This restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the most beautiful view over the Bay of Tangier.

Soleil Rouge
